Mpeg-4 Quantization Quarter Sample

Back home

(For those over the weekend has lost the previous bet, it is recommended the first reading of "Erez" February 7, 2009)

Before entering the access ramp to the departures the airport in Tel Aviv there is a check point. We stop. Passport and note ... Where you from? "" Jerusalem. "" Where is it going? "(I got the ticket by hand, no ...?)" Milan, Italy "" As he stopped in Israel? "(it says on the visa when I joined ...) "Four weeks" "It 's always been to Jerusalem?" (I see that stamp Erez ?...) "No". "Where was that?" "Gaza". "Ok, pull over the car , come down and unload luggage. Give me your phone, I'll give it back after the checks. "Each piece is individually examined contents of the suitcase to the X-ray Half an hour later he returns the phone. The passport and luggage on a pink sticker. In hand wheel where it says that they apologize for the mishap, but that the checks will allow me to save time at the airport ...

airport, queuing for check-in. A police officer checks passports and tickets in advance. Here comes my turn. "What's his name?" (It says on my passport ...) "Luigi". "Where you headed?" (But the guy did not call first?) "Milan, Italy. "As he stopped in Israel?" (I already have the pink dot!) "Four weeks". "Where was over Jerusalem?" (Amman, Cairo, Dead Sea) "Gaza". "What is going to do in Gaza?" (Vacation, there were some attractive offers in this time ...) "I work for an NGO ... I am a doctor." "Can you wait a moment here?" (No, I thought I would run away leaving her my passport ...) "Sure." The lady behind me smiling.

I had been informed in advance: for each traveler is assigned a numeric code between 1 and 6: 1 means ok, 6 means dangerous. The cop comes back and stick me on a sticker with the number 6. Among the privileges there is a physical examination in a special protected area of \u200b\u200bthe airport. But I had prepared and to express my personal little protest I wear the same socks for three days. After two hours, the verdict is that I can leave. Only two elements are of suspects: the PC mouse will travel in a special box, because it is guilty of conspiracy (someone must have used it without my permission to write anti-Semitic leaflets), the iPod charger, much more dangerous, rather than questioning the need separately, with special interpreters. If you decide to embark the work tomorrow and I reach home, if not I'll buy a new one. Overall, they were polite, they offered me a coffee (I raised asking the milk), I was escorted to the gate and I was also blown up the usual security checks!

boarding a familiar face, Ms. check-in. "It 's a real doctor?" I smile. "I can imagine where it comes from ... it will be very tired ...." Sometimes it takes very little in return for peace with the humans ...

Swiss Air flight LX255. Gin and tonic, beer, "Black and White" and "High School Musical 3". In the row in front of my child is sitting Israeli will have about two years. Who knows what will become of him in twenty years and that will take place on the Middle East. But his choices, unlike its peers in the Gaza Strip will not be affected by the scars left on the body or those hidden in the mind.

A lot of people who voted for Hamas in 2006, has repented. He hoped to get rid of corruption and the fragmentation of Fatah, but Hamas has discovered that it is far better. Before the next election there is still a bit 'of time. Meanwhile, I wonder if Israel will understand that with bombs so you can decapitate Hamas, but runs the risk of pushing people into the arms of the more extremist fringes?

Mission beautiful, but tough. Thanks for watching!

Erez

The car stopped a kilometer away from the Erez terminal. A barrier blocking the road and prevent to move further. Our companion (two of us, me and the surgeon in Hong Kong) takes us up to become a container prepared in the office next to the bar. Palestinian police check our passports and check that our names are on the list of people that day to leave the Strip. I greet our tour. "Are you happy to come home?" he asks. "No, I'm a bit 'sad." "Why?" "I want to stay here a while '...." Ride. "I am sad because I would go potermene but neither I nor my family can get out of here." We embrace.

We load the backpacks on their shoulders and begin to walk km on the road that day was probably paved. Around the total devastation, most of the houses is not even the outline. Ahead of us the wall of 12 meters. We come to a passage formed by two walls of reinforced concrete. A first gate with an intercom. We play. A few minutes later the gate opens and we go on. A second step, this time protected by wire mesh. A half a turnstile of iron. We get right to the source wall. An iron door with the cameras. The instructions are to make us see the cameras, waving to our observers. After fifteen minutes, the iron door opens. We enter the terminal.

A corridor with three iron turnstiles. On each a red light and one green. Are on only the red ones. Expect that one of the lights turn green and move on. We go into a room where I finally meet a person. He works for the Israelis, but Palestinians. No Israeli in the flesh you would find here. We support our bags on a table and open them. A camera on the ceiling examine them. Ok. Continue. We enter a corridor. There are bathrooms. Our manager had suggested we take advantage of it. We take this opportunity. Down the hall again turnstile of iron. Intercom. Red light. Green light. Another assistant will provide two trays of 80 square cm per side. In an all electronic devices and electrical we have, including credit cards, luggage and all the other metal accessories. Wait 15 minutes for the machine in which the trays are placed where they eat. One by one we enter into a cylindrical cabin. A voice through a loudspeaker warns us to keep his hands up. In front of us, above, can be glimpsed through the windows of the Israeli officials who control procedures. The cabin is closed, a scanner rotates around the body. You reopen the car from the opposite side from where we entered. Pound. Red light, green light. We find our electronic items. Harvesting and processing them. Last gate. We enter a room. Our luggage was on a table, completely open. An official with gloves examine them. Smiles when he sees the cookies Palestinians in the cardboard box. "You know you can not take them?" "No, I did not know ...." "Remember at the airport to put them in the hold." Ok, thanks. "Up to this point has gone over an hour.

Passport control. The official is a little girl. She sits in her glass booth. I the I stand up. Start to browse the passport. The usual questions. "Who is it? What does it do? Why was it in Gaza? Where is it headed? Where will I stay in Jerusalem? When again for Italy? Your email? His cell phone number? (Rugo not make stupid comments that the time is dramatic!). This stamp in the passport? "" South Sudan. Last year. Mission. You know, Sudan is divided into north and south, I was at the Christian .... "He smiles. See the links. Call." I have a letter from my NGO that certifies that I have been in Sudan for humanitarian reasons. "You see the again. After 20 minutes. "Excuse me, but the problem is Sudan?." "Yes." "Look, I had the same timbre even when I arrived in Tel Aviv, and when I returned to Israel from Taba three weeks ago and I had no problems "(false: The first time blocked for two hours, the second for five). He smiles and says" Yes, but now he was also known in Gaza and Gaza more ... Sudan ... "Of course, how stupid ..." Sit down there. "After 30 minutes I recall. Ok, I can go! Seen for two months. "Can I return to Israel in the future?" "Sure," he says. Perhaps, however, change of passport ...

Since the beginning of snakes and ladders have been two and a half hours. It must be said that no one is rude. They are meticulous, but only follow the procedures. One can well understand, have the right to protect themselves. I do not dispute this. I'm just saying that a place from which only some can go out, and not too easily, in my house it's called prison.

PS: The best informed say that beauty comes tomorrow when I'll have to take the flight from Tel Aviv to return to Italy ...! Arrival in the evening at the airport.

Leaving

Dear friends in Gaza,

I have just received confirmation that tomorrow morning I leave for Italy on Sunday in Jerusalem to fall.

I'm so sorry because I will not have the opportunity to greet and thank you one by one, as I wanted.

E 'was an honor to help you, even for a few days, to uplift the conditions in which this city has plummeted because of war and isolation that you have to endure.

My mission as an anesthesiologist in this beautiful land ends here, but now a new mission, as a man and as a member of MSF: to tell all the sufferings that were suffering.

you to the heart with the hope that a new sun will soon light up your city.

God bless

My dear brothers and sisters of Gaza,

That I've just Received confirmation tomorrow morning I'll leave from Gaza to start my trip back to Italy.

I'm reall sorry because tomorrow it's Friday and I won't be able to thank you and to say good bye to everyone.

It has been an honour to share these few weeks with you and to help you raise again your city, after the war and the isolation you are still facing.

My mission as anesthetist in this wonderful country is finished, but now I'm starting a new one, as man and member of MSF: tell the people the situation you are living and what you are suffering.

I'll keep you close to my heart, with the hope that a new sun could soon rise again above Gaza.

God bless you!

Sincerely yours

Louis

Confusion

The situation is rather confused. In the last hours I chatted a bit 'with our coordinator, an Egyptian doctor and a Palestinian from Gaza (Gaziano? Gazianese?) Of our administrative office to try to figure it out but everything seems illogical. Over the past two days, Israeli aircraft have resumed darting over our heads, with explosions that you hear every hour, but it seems without consequences in terms of casualties. Even because the Israelis, politely, to call in advance to warn families that are going to pull his house down. From Gaza continue to be fired rockets at 2-3 days beyond the wall. But meanwhile, is expected on Thursday the signing of the definitive cease-fire. Hamas calls for the reopening of the crossings, especially Rafah on the border with Egypt, but the Egyptians for their part did you know that tomorrow will close the border crossing point in these days of choice for journalists and humanitarian aid for an indefinite period. Since the rule is that you exit from Gaza by the same terminal where you entered, will start tomorrow, three doctors and nurses in our group to avoid being blocked, waiting that the new arrivals from Erez team (including the anesthesiologist that I will have to give change).

Israeli Prime Minister promises enormous and terrible reactions if they continue the firing of Palestinian rockets, but meanwhile, the defense minister of his government announced plans for a 48 km tunnel linking the north of the Gaza Strip south of the West Bank, the Palestinian territories of West Bank under the control of Al Fatah. Al Fatah which continues to hamper the government of Hamas in the Gaza Strip by increasing the exasperation of the people: he had already contributed to the economic collapse of this slice of Palestine and then to the strengthening of Hamas itself, blocking investments in the Gaza Strip, especially health, and now argues for the management of billions of dollars that will come for reconstruction. A prime example: the central pharmacy of Gaza before the war was left without many essential medicines and hospitals for several months, no longer do work in elections (planned), due to lack of resources, first of all electricity. Now with the war, the situation is paradoxically improved due to humanitarian aid have returned medicines and basic necessities.

This afternoon I toured the north of Gaza, passing through the area hardest hit by aviation and the Israeli navy. The attacks against Israel in fact, as a matter region, leaving as here, without the local population had responsibility. The situation is devastating homes and roads, but especially striking to see the agricultural land plowed by the passage of tanks. They also bombed a sports center, all schools and the only amusement park in Gaza: the Ferris wheel was destroyed (even before it was a pittance compared to the London Eye) is an emblematic image of the myopia that afflicts all wars, but perhaps this a bit 'more than the others.

On February 5, if you understand everything that is happening in the last hours is part of political games to put pressure on Hamas diplomatically and close the game, or if, as many are asking in Israel, militarily end once and for all what is left in half.

We are quite optimistic, but in the meantime, when in doubt, we put our flag on the roof of the hospital, office and apartment, to enlighten them day and night, because you never know. With this, the muezzin 4:30 apart, peaceful sleep.

What Do The Gel Bracklets Mean?

Milk and Gati: two stories of law

new look at the blog . I just want to give a refresher. Outside
gray skies and rain. Inside peaceful environment, salt lamp lit on the table in the background and the psychedelic new album from Julie's Haircut (short review on Rockol).
A good atmosphere to write, among other things I (re) started writing with pen and paper. In the morning, for me and not read what I write: a flow of thoughts.

So here we can discuss various things. One could speak of "Milk ," the Gus Van Sant starring Sean Penn a wonderful (Oscar). It tells the true story of Harvey Milk, a promoter of civil rights for homosexuals and gay first to hold public office in the U.S.. A good film, two hours flying, struck by the story and history (in the sense of historical period, and the fascinating live seventies). I appreciated the clarity and accuracy with which it is drawn Milk, a portrait that emerges from the different sides of the character: fragile one hand, strong hand, especially a person who understands that things need to change the overall power. A good film, I said, even though I thought excites me the most, maybe because I went to the cinema too full of expectations. In any case, I recommend watching at all. Because if there is one thing that is useful to remember is the way we were, how we came to civil rights that we are today (in general, not just for gays), as the danger of going back is always around the corner and there are still many things to do. "We must give hope to people." True, but now also serve as the facts.

In this regard I would like to talk for a moment Obama, the new president of the United States. It 's strange, or perhaps not, but this time the light comes from America. A positive light, it seems. And 'soon to tell but early signs seem to speak for themselves: it changes course.
next closure of Guantanamo. No more torture by the U.S. Army. Massive investment on renewable energy and new anti-pollution laws very severe. Dialogue with the Arab and Muslim world.
Well I think that in less than a month's work, these signals are enormous. I hope that everything goes well and that Barack will work without heavy braking due to the lobby.

I would say a few words for a person who is gone from Saturday. Remember the challenge to Sgarbi in a Sicilian town about two months ago? A boy cries former minister and current mayor of Salemi (Tp) his convictions for fraud against the state for defamation against the anti-mafia prosecutor Gian Carlo Caselli and shouting "Long live the anti-mafia pool! Viva Caselli." A young man who rebels against the crap that surrounds it, the same characters that have always been there, full of power, even convicted criminals for serious crimes. Joseph Gati is fed up, like Sicily and is tired, he wants to law and justice. On his website a few days later he writes: "He approached a man in civilian clothes, who claims to belong to the police and tries to search me because he wants the camera (which took away my friend). I say it can not do it and He threatens me and makes me a hand on him. After I get caught and taken to a secluded room, where the police take me documents and phone. I ask to see a lawyer (there was one room that he wanted to defend myself) to know my rights, but I say no. I identify and frisk me. Then I told him to call my friends, to hand over the camera, but I refuse. Here comes again the alleged member of the police and says quietly that he will tell me that he was assaulted and threatened by me. Do not make me talk, I can not defend. After over an hour and a half I took my leave with this sentence: You have to understand that you put against Sgarbi, who was honorable and minister. "
Joseph died Saturday while working, he had gone to get milk from a shepherd and is died electrocuted as he opened the valve of the coolant tank of milk. And 'dead inside a tavern with wood, dirty. accident, tragic and shameful death on the job or as the "suicide" of Peppino Impastato, or the anarchist Pinelli who throws from the windows of police headquarters in Milan? In 2009 and we would be right to believe that it was just a serious accident at work, what still absurd and unjustifiable. I do not know it's hard not to have suspects in today. Well anyway I want to say thanks to Joseph Gati, for his courage, his will to fight, because if we all had more strength to cry out things might change.

Song of the day: "Sima Edy - Dub Colossus . A project born from the meeting in Ethiopia between English Nick Page (Transglobal Underground) with local musicians. A short article for more information in my Rockol Selected. Meanwhile ascoltatevi something fresh fresh debut album "In A Town Called Addis". Dub, reggae, jazz, electronic ...

Brzydula Online Odcinek 1

Sunday

1. Italy.

The news of the Italian newspapers are always depressing. I especially dislike the propaganda of the establishment industricale-Masonic-radical-chic Milan, who wants to believe that Juve has lost twice in a row in the league. Even at home 2-3 against Cagliari ... The truth, no one ever tells you is that we are firmly at the top and Inter limps to follow us ...

2. Hospital.

Here everything flows pretty well. Now the hospital is tested and working well and tomorrow we will start to open a clinic dedicated to the surgical consultation, which many expect to expand the number of times daily that until now has been about 4-5 per day. In coming weeks we will begin a plastic surgeon and skin grafts and revisions particular aesthetic wound to the face: we have already seen several cases of burns to the face that are devastating to hesitate in scars. Meanwhile, we continue the review of wound infection and post amputation stumps.

3. War.

The military-political situation sees a cease-fire holding, although some continue to be fired rockets from Gaza into Israel. The Israeli government for its part has announced a new operation will be called "Picking the red rose." The idea is to hit those alleged to be a dangerous one, as it did in the past, with an airstrike aimed at the individual, rather than a geographical area. That is, instead of pull down a few buildings blow themselves up just a couple of machines. Last week with this trick were wounded eight children going to school. Meanwhile, a English court would defer to trial for war crimes the perpetrators of the murder Israelis targeted Salah Shehadeh, one of the founders of the radical Palestinian Hamas, assassinated in 2002: the boys of the IDF, along with the target, killing 14 people innocent. Segnalo the Declaration of Tony Blair, Head of Delegation of the quartet for the path of peace, who wants Hamas to the negotiating table with Al Fatah, in adopting the strategy used 10 years ago in Ireland, provided of course that renounces violence. Hamas already know that Tony Blair is deficient and does not understand anything. The same Hamas has also made clear that here there was no settling of accounts after the war: they are only 21 dead and 115 wounded.

4. Diversions.

If I remember correctly was "Airplane! The world." Passengers on an airplane during a flight attended the screening of a film about a series of air disasters. Here, to distract us, we have seen "Paradise Now": s tory of the last 48 hours of the Palestinian suicide bomber and his friend Khaled Said, in their "holy mission" against Israel. A movie that makes you think. Bello.

5. Ban on reporting.

As someone has already done through Facebook and email, I adhere to this campaign, of which I am attaching the link:

6. For Rugo.

I see myself at the airport in Tel Aviv during the inspection of luggage, when I was in the backpack to the flag of Hamas mo 'souvenir ...
